It's me

My name is Andreas Blamauer, and I am a fly fisherman, supervisor and guide in the idyllic fishing village of Opponitz.

I grew up here and live with my wife and our two children in the midst of enchanting nature.

Since childhood, I've had a deep passion for the Ybbs River and fishing. Fly fishing has become my great passion, which I pursue with dedication and enthusiasm. I've been a member of the Hurch ProTeam for six years now and enjoy the support of Peter Oberwimmer.

I am often asked: “Why do you work as a guide?”

The answer is simple:

It gives me great joy when a beginner or advanced fisherman catches exactly THE ONE fish thanks to my tips.

I devote myself intensively to the various fly fishing techniques. This includes not only traditional dry fly fishing, but also modern methods such as nymph fishing, known as "Euronymphing."

Supporting young talent is particularly important to me. I'm involved in the youth department of the Workers' Fishing Association and serve as a youth supervisor on the board of the Waidhofen Workers' Fishing Association.

"Good fishing"
